Tears of Joy

Where do I begin? Berry College is the most beautiful campus in the world (along with being the biggest). 3-13-2010 marked another day in history that a couple that met while in school exchanged vows. I was able to play a small part in one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever attended. It wasn’t the flowers, the elaborate reception venue, or prefect weather made this wedding. This wedding was significant and different special were the bride and groom and their sincere love for one another. It was how set Ryan was on not seeing his bride until she walked down the aisle and how giddy and full of life Helen was all morning. It was the cards and gifts they’d made ahead of time to share on that very special morning. Helen was a stunning bride and Ryan a handsome groom.

I’m an individual who doesn’t cry easily (although my husband would sometimes disagree)… but when the big moment came and the march was played on the violin, the door opened and there Ryan stood waiting for his bride… time stood still. For a moment the world stopped turning and it was only Ryan and Helen in that Sactuary. Ryan’s eyes were red and freshly moist from tears and you could see he was trying his best to be strong but seeing the woman of his dreams, such a beautiful and stunning bride walking towards him in white and with a smile that was brighter than the sunshine… it was all he could take in and ever so slowly I could see a tear running down his cheek. Helen, like

me and not the first to typically cry had moist eyes when she arrived to take Ryan’s hand. No one knew- but behind the camera I, like Ryan was doing my best to hold it together and continue capturing their moment amid the tears streaming down my face.

It was such a sweet service and so fitting for these two. It was impossible to miss their joy and excitement as they were pronounced man and wife. What a sweet, sweet ceremony and a reception full of life to follow!

Thank you Ryan and Helen for allowing me to be a part of your journey from boyfriend and girlfriend to fiancee and fiancee and now  to man and wife. I’ve loved every minute of it and wish you all the greatest success and love in your future together. :)

I love this picture as you can see Helen’s excitement as Ryan slides the ring onto her finger.
