Ahhh… the many happenings at Light Love Laughter Photography recently have kept me a running but I wanted to pause for a moment and give you all and update that’s deserved and overdue! :)
#1. I’ve been patiently waiting since January for the domain lightlovelaughter.com to become available to buy. The previous owner was just sitting there and their reign expired in February but then you have another 80 day period that it’s in “hold”.. anyways Sunday it went up again for sale. I don’t exactly understand the entire process but my amazing husband does so he listed some services to buy it as soon as it became available. This doesn’t guarantee your win, so I just hoped I’d get lucky.
So we looked at the site on Sunday night and it looked like someone else has stalked it better than our company and won the domain. They’d put their ads up and the purchase of the site was now not $9.00 but $1,000! My heart sank- I was quite disgusted, upset, disappointed and totally BUMMED! So I went my ways to meet a family and do their session Sunday afternoon and on my trip home I got a phone call from my husband saying he’d done some research and the domain was now MINE! YAY!! So away with all things “L3″ and welcome to Everything Light Love Laughter.
#2 I’ve been busily preparing for the World’s Largest Baby Shower that comes to town May 22nd and 23rd at the Georgia World Congress Center. I’m going to have a booth and have been working in Overdrive to make sure it stops all those new mommies in their tracks! Phew! I think I’ve about got everything lined up… just about. I’d love some volunteers to help in the booth, so if you’ve been a past client or you’ve been waiting for your chance to have a session contact me. I’m offering a special price for sessions for those that spend a couple of hours on the floor chatting with those who stop by the booth. :) (Tessa@lightlovelaughter.com)
#3 Congrats to David and Malory Moskovitz! They had a beautiful wedding in a 150 year old church on Saturday. I had so much fun with them and their wedding party- I’ll be sharing a few pictures later today.
#4 I’ve got a limited number of sessions left before weather turns super hot and humid- so if you’ve been thinking about doing a session Now is the Time! The weather has been marvelous- don’t miss it!
#5 My blog had a facelift several months ago and I’ve been working hard to give my website a facelift as well. It’s not completely finished but it’s better than before. You’ll find options when you go to www.lightlovelaughter.com. You can choose either a portrait, wedding or blog site. Let me know what you think… and be sure to look for a few more changes to come!
#6 Finally…
The biggest news of the week….
There’s Christmas in July but what about Christmas in May?!
Yesterday the UPS man brought me a BIG box. I’ve been renting a 2nd body for my weddings and with so many more in the near future I decided it was time to put that money towards a new ownership. I made the order last week, then had to use a D300 this past weekend as they were out of D90′s. I didn’t realize how much better the D300 would be and it made me even more anxious and excited to receive my new package yesterday knowing the D700 was another step up! Not only did he bring a beautiful camera… but a brand new LENS as well! I’ve rented this lens many times and fell in love with its sharpness, quality and speed. I’m so excited to put it to use!

The front view… of a new full frame D700!

Quite a bit bigger than my current camera.

A new layout of the controls. Much easier to use! It’s a pretty thick body too.

ahh.. so beautiful! ;)

The granddaddy lens (yep- it’s about 12″ long)!

This is the manual I’ll be reading in my spare time… ;) Once I tackle this one I’ll read the manual for the lens- it’s about equal in size!

Be sure to stay tuned over the weekend as I plan to add lots of new sessions and pictures from the adventures with my new gear!
And to all the moms out there- Happy Mother’s Day!!
