David and Malory had such a beautiful wedding. Although I’m late to get it up on the blog.. their images were shared on face book several weeks ago. I’ve been busily editing pictures and taking more pictures that I’ve gotten a little behind on the blog so I’m going to try and do a marathon of posting to catch up!
David and I attended Berry together and were friends throughout college. As Ryan said in a toast to David, “Within the first week of school our freshman year he knew everyone on campus”. That statement is pretty true, David is the most outgoing person I’ve ever met and he has a way of making sure everyone he encounters is comfortable and taken care of. Even on his wedding day he asked me multiple times if there was anything he could do to help me- I tried to convince him this was his day to enjoy and his day to be served…. I’m not sure that I could consider I accomplished this task- but I did do my best to serve them both throughout the day. :)
I remember David as the guy from on top the mountain that never slept and was going 100 miles an hour all the time. He was always on the go, but if you ever needed something he’s the guy you know you could call. Two words could define him: High energy.
The first time I met Malory, my husband and I met them for dinner and immediately I could since a difference in David. I’d heard him talk about her and speak so highly of her but it wasn’t until I saw them together that I realized the impact she had truly made on his life. His personality and character remained unchanged but for the first time in all the years I’ve known him I saw the sparkle in his eye and the true excitement and love he held for this girl named Malory. Malory is quiet and steady, she kept calm through her entire day and nothing seemed to ruffle her feathers. She is calm, cool, and collected super sweet and to top it off she’s absolutely gorgeous! She’s slowed David down and keeps him grounded but still allows him to the freedom to be himself. It’s a truly beautiful relationship and balance they have that will enable them a lifetime of happiness.
Although they didn’t meet until after college they were from the same town (same high school in fact) and it was mutual friends that brought them together and as fate would have it- the rest is history.
I met Malory at the Salon that morning as she and her maid of honor, best friend, aka sister were getting ready. It was a cool and muggy morning and the forecast was for thunderstorms but we crossed our fingers and prayed the weather would hold until the wedding was completed.

I love this picture- it’s worth a thousand words to express what Megan was feeling that morning as she watched her sister prepare to be David’s bride.

Is there a bride today who doesn’t send at least a couple of text messages on her big day?

I caught the guys just in time to snap a few of David putting on the final touches of his tux.

They got married in Flint Hill church. A super cute 150 year old church tucked away in the middle of the North Georgia mountains.

The lace and detail on her dress was simple yet so pretty!

Her first reaction of seeing herself as a bride.

I told you.. she’s stunning!

I love it when couples do first looks. It gives them a few moments alone that they wouldn’t otherwise have and it gives us time to create some fun and relaxed portraits of them without feeling the pressures of having to get back to the reception. Their guests don’t have to sit around and wait since we get all the pictures completed before the ceremony. These are some of their first moments of seeing one another.

So sweet- so sincere- so Real.

Malory’s mom surprised them with a horse drawn carriage to carry the girls to the ceremony and take David and Malory to the reception.

The church was beautiful- but it was Tiny!

I wonder how many beautiful brides this church has seen in its 150 years of existence…

This has David written all over it!

The girls are beautiful and I just loved their dresses!

Totally spontaneous- I love it!

Check out Clay’s (the redhead) face- hilarious!

A tender moment shared between the bride and her sister.

David planned their entire honeymoon himself and kept it as a surprise from his bride to be. She had no idea where they were going when she got in the car but he was kind enough to share the secret with us before they left. I wanted to pack my bag and go along… as they were spending their week in Paris and Italy- So fun! I know she was totally shocked and thrilled. She was super excited to see what he had up his sleeve- and I’m pretty sure she would agree- it was worth waiting to find out what the destination was!
Congrats to you both David and Malory and thank you for allowing me to capture and share your special day. I can’t wait to hear your stories about the honeymoon and all your travels and wish you the best in your future as husband and wife!
