Subway was their answer… in high school Ricardo was in need of a “date” to go to six flags with. Thanks to Ricardo’s co-worker’s cousin he found that date- her name was Marica. That was back before the days of Facebook, long predating mobile devices and if I remember correctly my home still had one of those “corded” phones-
It was the year that the Minnesota Twins won the World Series and the Giants won the Superbowl.
Tiger Woods wasn’t discovered yet and Strike the Gold won the Kentucky Derby.
Silence of the Lambs won Best Film at the Oscars and Disney released Beauty and the Beast.
I’ve heard time and time again how when you meet the right person it either comes A) when you least expect it or B) this time the timing was right.
From their meeting at Subway to the date at Six Flags was the beginning of their relationship but life would pull them apart and they’d go their separate ways. Ricardo says he never stopped loving her wishfully hoping for years that he would meet her again.
Even though the luxuries of modern technology weren’t even dreamed about when they met- more than 18 years later they reunited on Facebook and both vowed they’d never loose sight of each other again.
He waited his entire life to marry the woman of his dreams… and it was more than 20 years once he met her before they’d share their vows… and I’m sure Ricardo would tell you it was worth every single minute he spent waiting.
On a gorgeous afternoon these two “high school sweet hearts” who met, fell in love and then went their own ways in life only to be brought back together again… and exchanged vows full of love and anticipation for the lives they’ve waited so long to share.
The morning preparations took place at the Hilton Marietta Conference Center… excitement would be an understatement to the atmosphere in the rooms with their family and friends.

A surprise from his bride nearly brought him to tears…

the crew working to get the bride ready… it was a labor of love.
